accabi of Metro Detroit
recently hosted a Movies
for Maccabi fund-raiser
at the Showcase Cinema
in Auburn Hills. Coaches, ath-
letes, parents and committee
members were among the
more than 150 patrons who at-
tended the Sunday afternoon
event, featuring snacks and a
movie.
"This is a kick-off event for the
summer games," said Jill
Spokojny, chairman of the fund-
' ser.
`This summer Detroit athletes
will be attending the games in
either . Milwaukee or Pittsburgh,"
said Alan Horowitz, a gener-
al chairman for the 1998 Mac-
cabi games to be hosted in
Detroit.
