chuppah. Cookie-cutter fash-
ion is out, even at a formal
wedding. In fact, many bridal
apparel makers now have com-
panion colors and styles that
give brides and their atten-
dants as well as junior brides-
maids and flower girls plenty of
individual choices, but an over-
all harmonious appearance, as
they walk down the aisle.
While the body-conscious
sheath dress may be all the
rage, generally, A-line silhou-
ettes will flatter more figures.
But if you have attendants that
are petite or size 14 and over,
don't worry. It doesn't neces-
sarily mean you have to make
a trip to the dressmaker. Spe-
cial sizes are now available
from many bridal companies.
There are even bridesmaids'
dresses for expectant mothers!
Decide ahead of time what
accessories should be worn at
the wedding. If you give your
attendants gifts of jewelry, let
them know if you expect them
to wear it. Otherwise, respect
each one's unique personality.
The hair style that looks
good on one woman may not
look right on another, so
choose headpieces with care.
Instead of trying to impose
braided buns on those with
short hair, it may be better to
let each attendant choose a
style that is most flattering to
her.
For most weddings, the
floor-length or tea-length dress
is appropriate for the atten-
dants. If the wedding is infor-
mal, bridesmaids may wear a
shorter dress with simple ac-
