"To give you an idea: Spaghetti and meatballs means a .full
pound of pasta and half pound of meatballs -
and that's the small order (S9.95)."
Molly Abraham, Sunday Journal
"Zia's is warm and comfv, cheesy .yet cool, a place to
take the whole fan-dandy, bowling team, couples club or
other large group to pig out on southern Italian cuisine."

Ask if you can trade the ex-
tra desserts beyond the wed-
ding cake for an additional
entree choice. See if you can
trade the flashy table center-
pieces for free bouquets.
Check if the photographer
will let you trade the wallet-
size photos for an additional
1 1-by-14-inch portrait. A good
wedding vendor will be glad
to accommodate your wishes,
and they've come to expect a
little bit of contract tailoring.
8. Keep it in this country.
When possible, choose do-
mestic over imported. That
goes not only for champagne,
but for various foods, desserts
and flowers.
9. Have great elements, but
for a shorter time.
Arrange for a pianist or
harpist to play during the
cocktail hour only. Allow the
champagne to flow only dur-
ing the first hour of the recep-
tion. Cut the last hour off
your five-hour reception.
Schedule the limousine to
take you to the wedding loca-
tion and reception only; then
after the reception, you can
hop into your festively deco-
rated car and zoom off into
your honeymoon.
10.Stay organized.
The worst wedding shop-
ping mishaps are paying for
something you don't use, pay-
ing again for something
you've already paid for and
paying more than you agreed
to in your contract. All of
these things can happen if
you're not on top of your
wedding details. So get clear
contracts, write down what
you've done and when you've
done it, record the payments
you've made, and have an ex-
act head count of your guests
when it's time to submit the
final numbers. ❑
N ow we'll come to yours.
