lead services.

will be his parents, Elliot and
Gayle, and his brother and sis-

Joseph Yashinsky

Joseph Adam Yashinsky of Farm-
ington Hills was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Sat-
urday, Feb. 1, at Congregation
B'nai Moshe. He led the service
with Rabbi Elliot Pachter.
Participating in the service
were his parents, Debra and Gary
Yashinsky, and his brothers,
Gabriel, Samuel and Michael.
Joining in the celebration were
Joseph's grandmothers, T
Yashinsky and Elizabeth Weiss.
Joseph also is the grandson of
Sam Yashinsky and Rubin Weiss
of blessed memory.
Joey is an honor student at
Warner Middle School. He plays
cornet in the varsity band and en-
joys baseball, basketball and ten-
nis. As part of his mitzvah
contribution, he volunteered at
the Special Olympics and at a lo-
cal convalescent home.
A party was held in his honor
at B'nai Moshe.

Torah as a bat mitzvah on Feb.
8 at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. Rabbi Tutnauer and Can-
tor Najman will lead the service.
Participating in the ceremony
will be her parents, Dr.
Lawrence and Lisa Garfinkle,
and her brother and sister, Adam
and Jenny. Her proud grand-
parents, Gloria Rivkin of West
Bloomfield and Martin and
Suzanna Garfinkle of West
Bloomfield, also will participate.
Rachael also is the granddaugh-
ter of the late Fredric Rivkin.
Additional honors will be giv-
en to Dr. Alan Resnick of High-
