MAN, 93, of Cleveland, Ohio,
died Jan. 28.
Mrs. Winkelman is survived
by her sons and daughters-in-
law, Dr. Eugene and Janet of
Shaker Heights, Ohio, Stuart
and Sally of West Bloomfield,
Dr. A. Charles of Bala Cynyd,
Pa.; 10 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren.

BETTY ZWEIG, of Toronto,
died Jan. 6. Born in London,
England, she came to Canada
with her family in 1911. Enter-
ing the work force, she became
the secretary to the president
of Colliers magazine.
In the 1940s, Ms. Zweig be-
came involved with the Sinai
Service Group, raising funds
for Mount Sinai Hospital in
Toronto and later becoming
president of the organization.
She was a member of the Holy
Blossom Temple Sisterhood,
Hadassah, and she was chair
for Israel Bonds. This was fol-
lowed by her assuming the vice
presidency of the Women's Di-
vision, State of Israel Bonds of
Canada and later becoming
the first woman ever appoint-
ed honorary chairman of the
board of governors of the State
of Israel Bonds in Toronto. For
her bonds work, in 1972 she
was presented with the
Eleanor Roosevelt Humanities
Award. Long involved with the
Women's Auxiliary of the Jew-
ish Home for the Aged, she
was named a life member of its
board of directors and contin-
ued to chair the gift shop well
into her 80s.
She is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Mon-
ica and Norman Ziegelman of
Bloomfield Hills; son and
daughter-in-law, Stephen and
Joyce of Toronto; grandchil-
dren, David and Kim Ziegel-
man, Jan and Harry Cohen,
Eric and Barbara Zweig, David
Zweig, Jonathan Zweig; great-
grandchildren, Lauren and
Eric, Ethan and Jeremy.
