Varied Programs

The American Association of Re-
tired Persons will offer a free in-
come tax assistance program for
senior citizens from 9:30 a.m.-
2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at the
Southfield Public Library.
Any citizen who is 60 years old
or older and has an income of
$35,000 or less is eligible to re-
ceive assistance.

Bingo will start at 12:30 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 10, at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Jewish Commu-
nity Center. There is a fee.
The JPM JCC will present the
biblical video "Joseph" at 12:45
p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11. There is
no charge.
The Yiddish Culture Club will
meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13,
at the JPM JCC. There is no

Income tax form assistance for

A look at the people, places and
events that shaped the Detroit
Jewish community will be the
subject when Irwin Cohen ad-
dresses the Beth Elders of Tem-
ple Beth El at noon Tuesday,
Feb. 18, at the temple.
Mr. Cohen will present a lec-
ture and slide show, "Focus On
Yesteryear," that combines his
knowledge of our community's
past with his collection of arti-
facts. His presentation will be
preceded by lunch.
The cost of the luncheon pro-
gram, open to the community, is
$8 per person. Reservations with
checks may be made prior to Feb.
