I

t was a "tail" of true bonding between
seniors and 11 dogs at the Fleis-
chman Residence in West Bloomfield
last week.
For the past six years, Pet-a-Pet
canines (and their owners) have been
visiting residents once a month to
say hello, get a pat or two, good treats and
lots of kisses.
"When I go there in my capacity as as-
sistant, to the foot doctor,Iresidents1 want
to know when the dogs are coming in," said
Sherrill Platt, who coordinates the pro-

gram and brings in her own dogs. "It gives
the people who own the dogs a great feel-
ing, and it gives me great satisfaction to
bring a little difference to the seniors' day.
Pet-a-Pet Club Inc., begun 11 years ago
by Ruth Curry, consists of 300 volunteers,
their dogs and a board of advisers, in-
cluding a few veterinarians. Sinai I lospi-
tal is one of the regular destinations of the
organization, and next month, the group
will begin visiting the Marvin and Betty
Danto nursing care facility next to Fleis-
chman.
