Writing a story. "It works, you know," one of
the staff people in my office told me.
"I made a book for my granddaughter and she
loved it. I had to read it to her several times,
and then her mom had to read it to her, too."
Children are natural lovers of stories, and while
thousands of books are out there from which to add to a
child's home library, there is something very special about a book
written by a grandparent all about his or her grandchild. Such
books are relatively easy to make with a few sheets of paper sta-
pled together with a cardboard cover. They need not even be il-
lustrated, but they should tell a very brief story about your
grandchild:
