PHILIP HANDLEMAN won

a major award in the annual
aerospace photography compe-
tition. Mr. Handleman's photo-
graph captured first place in the
general category of the 1996 Avi-
ation Week and Space Technol-
ogy Photo Contest. The winning
photograph depicts the official
aerial demonstration team of the
Canadian Forces, the Snow-
birds, executing a nine-ship for-
mation pass at the Reno Air
Races.

Barristers
Plan Seminar

The B'nai B'rith Barristers will
hold a day of legal seminars 9
a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at the
Bloomfield Hills Public Library
on Telegraph Road.
The first session will feature
Robert Larin and Judge Michael
Batchick, presenting an update
on Michigan drunk driving de-
fense. The second session, start-
ing at 1:30 p.m., will cover
criminal law, presented by at-
torney Jerry Sabbota, and Judge
Denise Langford-Morris.
Cost for the full day, two-part
session will be $60 for non-mem-
bers and $45 for members. A
half-day session will be $40 for
non-members and $30 for mem-
bers. Registrations will be at the

Temple Israel will begin an 11-
week "Introduction to Judaism"
course 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Tues-
day, Feb. 25 at the temple. The
class is open to anyone interest-
ed in learning more about Ju-
daism or converting to the
Jewish faith.
Course tuition is $100 per cou-
ple and $80 per individual, plus
a $50 book fee. Class dates have
