Study Program
At 12:30 p.m. Jan. 18, Congrega-
tion B'nai Moshe will launch a
new Shabbat afternoon study
program, "Stay and Learn on
Shabbat," with an after-kiddush
learning session titled "The True
Story of Conservative Judaism's
Origins," led by Seth Korelitz, ex-
ecutive director of the Michigan
Region of the United Synagogue
of Conservative Judaism.
The session will run for about
one hour. Also included will be a
free-ranging discussion of future
study topics and formats for this
new program.

Family Events
Families who are part of Con-
gregation B'nai Moshe's LIFE
(Learning Is a Family Experi-
ence) Program will participate in
a variety of Jewish living and
learning activities during the
next eight days.
On Shabbat morning, 11 a.m.
Jan. 18, LIFE students and their
parents will prepare for Tu
B'Shevat with a pre-holiday pro-
gram featuring Shel Silverstein's
children's story The Giving Tree.
At 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, dur-
ing regular LIFE classes, there
will be a pre-Tu B'Shevat Tast-
ing Party for children in grades
K and up. Each LIFE family will
contribute a box of kosher figs,
dates or raisins, or fresh fruit (or-
anges, grapefruit or bananas) to
the celebration.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22,
there will be a Middle School
Family Night for sixth-, seventh-
and eighth-grade students and
their parents on the theme 'The
Haftorah Connection" On the fol-
lowing Shabbat morning, Janu-
ary 25, third-graders in the LIFE
Program will celebrate a Siyum
Hasefer (the completion of a ma-
jor unit of Hebrew study) as a
featured part of the congrega-
tional service. Honored for their
achievement in Hebrew syna-
gogue skills will be Bethany Feld-
man, Jake Feldman, Jake
Feldman, Josh Kalisky, Sophie
LaFond, Brandon Movitz, Re-
