Plan Mission

Extraordinary cabinetry.

The history and culture of
Sephardic Jewry and the vitality
of contemporary Israel will be ex-
plored during the United Jewish
Appeal Young Leadership Cabi-
net Chazak III mission to Spain
and Israel March 9-20.
Participants will visit the Pra-
do Museum, synagogues and his-
torical sites in Madrid, Toledo and
Granada. In Israel, the mission
will visit the artist's colony of
Safed, go on an archaeological dig
and enjoy Tel Aviv's nightlife.
A recruitment and information
meeting will take place 7 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Max M.
Fisher Building.
A subsidy from the Jewish Fed-
eration of Metropolitan Detroit
has reduced the fee to $1,850. Air-
fare to New York is extra. A min-
imum $1,000 contribution to the
Allied Jewish Campaign is

Sports Night

Temple Beth El's Brotherhood will
host its annual Sports Night, 6
p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the tem-
ple, featuring dinner, local sports
celebrities, entertainment and a
guaranteed prize for all young-
sters attending. Guest host this
year will be Bob Trimble, sports
anchor for UPN 50.
Sports Night is open to the com-

Mysticism
Class Set

Bais Chabad Torah Center will
host a series of lectures on Jewish
mysticism given by Rabbi Elim-
elech Silberberg at the Torah Cen-
thr, 5595 West Maple Road, West
Bloomfield, on Sundays at 10:30
a.m. The lecture series also is of-
fered on Thursdays at 10:45 a.m.
The lectures are geared both for
beginners and more advanced stu-
