Sandy Danto

Sandy Lawrence Danto of West
Bloomfield will become a bar
mitzvah on Friday, Jan. 17, at
Temple Israel. Rabbis M. Robert
Syme, Harold Loss, Paul Yed-
wab and Cantor Harold Orbach
will lead the Shabbat service.
Participating in the service
will be Sandy's parents, Dr. Jef-
frey and Robin Danto, along with
his brother, Michael, and sisters,
Shayna and Allison. Dr. Bruce
and Joan Danto of Fullerton,
Calif., Sandy's grandparents,
also will participate in this sim-
cha. Sandy is also the grandchild
of the late Dr. Morris and Shirley
Hutton.
Sandy is an honor roll student
at Orchard Lake Middle School
in the seventh-grade. He attends
religious school at Temple Israel
and did volunteer work at both
Temple Israel and Fleishman
Residence Home as part of the
mitzvot program during the past
year. A party in Sandy's honor
will be held at Temple Israel.

Rachel Rubin

Rachel Nicole Rubin, daughter
of Dr. Larry and Nori Rubin, will
be called to the Torah as a bat
mitzvah at Congregation B'nai
Moshe on Saturday, Jan. 11.
Rachel is the granddaughter
of Milt and Roz Weinger and
Nathan and Elinor Rubin, and
is the sister of Jamie.
Rachel is an eighth-grade stu-
dent at Orchard Lake Middle
School, where she is an honor
student and active in the PEP
Program. She enjoys many ex-
tracurricular activities, includ-
ing cheerleading, dance, the
Orchard Lake Singers and ski-
ing.
Rachel is a Hebrew and Ju-
daica student in the LIFE
(Learning Is a Family Experi-
ence) Program at Congregation

B'nai Moshe.
