WEIN- ER, 73, of Bloomfield Hills, died Dec. 31. Dr. Weiner served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He joined the Wayne Medical School faculty as in- spector and recently completed 45 years of lecturing and work- ing in the laboratory. His career at Wayne State University in- cluded being a full professor, acting chairman of the Depart- ment of Microbiology, chairman of the Department of Inifnunolo- gy and Microbiology, associate dean as part of the troika run- ning the medical school and deputy dean in charge of day-to- day running of the school. In 1962, Dr. Weiner was invited as one of 12 world scientists to at- tend a NATO symposium at the Max Planck Institute in Gotten- heim, Germany.
