HARRY ALPINER, 96, for-

mer Detroiter of Oceanside,
Calif., died Dec. 29.
He is survived by his wife,
Sally (Sarah); brothers and sis-
ters-in-law, Dr. Sam and
Shirley of Bloomfield Hills,
Arnold and Evelyn of Sun City,
Calif.; sisters-in-law and broth-
ers-in-law, Bess Alpiner of
Southfield, Abe Moore of Oak
Park, Max and Gussie Shrut of
Oak Park, Selma and Ruben
Axelrod of Delray Beach, Fla.
Interment was held at Eter-
nal Hills Memorial Park,
Oceanside.

ALBERT ASHE, 81, of Farm-

ington Hills, died Dec. 24. Prior
to retirement in 1985, Mr. Ashe
was the owner of Ashe and
Koloff Muntz TV.
He is survived by his wife,
Virginia; daughter and son-in-
law, Sheila and David Lip-
schutz of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Kenneth and
Lainie Lipschutz of West
Bloomfield, Lauren and Jay
Mandel; great-granddaughter,
Allison Lipschutz; brother and
sister-in-law, Isadore and
Roslyn of Oak Park.

HELEN BOODIN, 82, of

Southfield, died Dec. 25. For
over 30 years, Mrs. Boodin was
a volunteer for Braille tran-
scription for the Tri-County
Braille Association through
Adat Shalom Synagogue. She
was also a past member of Con-
gregation Beth Achim.
Mrs. Boodin is survived by
her son and daughter-in-law,
Dr. Stephen and Lynda of West
Bloomfield; daughter and son-
in-law, Dr. Ingrid and Dr. Sid-
ney Grossberg of Farmington
Hills; grandchildren, Alex and
Emily Grossberg, Jennifer and
Natalie Boodin; brother and
sister-in-law, Dr. Herman and
Harriet Alpert of New York;
sister and brother-in-law, Alma
and Hy Goodsite of Tucson,
Ariz. She was the beloved wife
of the late Albert Boodin and
the dear sister of the late Es-
ther Goldstein.

SYLVIA CHERRIN, 80, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Dec. 23.
Mrs. Cherrin and her family
lived in the Detroit area for
generations. She was a member
of the Sinai Guild, Hadassah
and Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Mrs. Cherrin is survived by
her daughter and son-in-law,
Phyllis and Gerald Krause of
Bloomfield Hills; grandchil-
dren, Rhonda Hoffman,
Michael and Jennifer Hoffinan,
Judy and Marc Metzger, Nancy
and Don Watson, Marc Koff-
man, Charles Krause, Suzy and
Gary Smuckler; 10 great-
grandchildren. She was the
beloved wife of the late Archie
Cherrin; the dear sister of the
late Bernice Koffman.
