This 1942 photo, titled Evening Fashion, is one of 100 vintage pho-
tographs in the exhibition "Ruth Bernhard at Ninety: Known and
Unknown." Bernhard, in a career spanning 60 years, is renowned
for her classical photographs, many of them fashion images, as well
as for her beautifully lit portraits of female nudes, all of which are
