Slam Dunk
For Neurology

The fourth annual "Shoot for a
Cure" event helped Henry Ford's
Hospital Department of Neurol-
ogy and Detroit Pistons score big
points in the fight against neuro-
logical diseases.
Preliminary figures indicate
the event grossed $190,000, and
the Pistons earned their first vic-
tory of the pre-season by beating
the Los Angeles Clippers at the
Palace.
Proceeds will benefit the Hen-
ry Ford Will Robinson Neuro-
surgery Fund, which supports
research and treatment of brain
tumors, stroke, epilepsy, head in-
jury and spinal disorders.
More than 350 people attend-
ed the VIP event, which featured
pre- and post-game parties and
live and silent auctions.
