Samantha Jane Dresser
age 10,
a resident of Bay City who attends that community's
Washington Elementary School and
Am Yachad Hebrew School.
Samantha is a Chanukah Art Contest veteran, having won
her age group a few years ago as well as several honorable
mentions. Her mother Marilyn, also an artist, says Saman-
tha has been "into trees lately," hence her cover design com-
bining the biblical burning bush with the Chanukah menorah.
Samantha's brother, Jacob, age 4, also entered the contest
this year with a cut-paper menorah design.
The Dressers plan to attend the Chanukah Art Contest party 24 p.m. Sunday, Dec.
8, at the Jimmy Prentis Morris (JPM) Jewish Community Center in Oak Park. The
party, open to the community, will have a time for viewing all 180 entries in this year's
contest. They will be displayed at JPM throughout Chanukah.
At 2:15 p.m., there will be a Chanukah magic show, followed at 3 p.m. by the Art
Contest awards ceremony, 3:15 p.m. Chanukah candle-lighting and 3:30 p.m. re-
freshments. For reservations for the free party, call the JPM, (810) 967-4030.
