Moscow (JTA) —Vandals have de-
stroyed 16 graves in the Jewish
cemetery of Saratov, Russia, some
450 miles southeast of Moscow.
Leaders of the Russian Jewish
Congress called the incident an-
other manifestation of "anti-Se-
mitic terror" in Russia, and urged
authorities to investigate the crime
and work to prevent such incidents
in the future.
The Saratov cemetery was des-
ecrated on a larger scale earlier
this year, but no suspects were ap-
prehended in that incident.
