BERTHA KATZ, 86, of South-

field, died November 24. Mrs.
Katz was an active member of
Congregation B'nai Moshe and
volunteered for many charitable
causes. She had worked for the
Veterans Administration during
World War II. She was a dedicat-
ed employee for many years at
B. Siegel and Company in De-
troit and Southfield.
She is survived by many lov-
ing relatives and friends. Mrs.
Katz was the beloved wife of the
late Frank. Contributions may
be made to Congregation B'nai
Moshe, Na'amat, JARC.
Services were held at Hebrew
Memorial Chapel. Interment at
Hebrew Memorial Park.
Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

JANINA KRAJEWSKA, 86, of

West Bloomfield, died Nov. 23.
Mrs. Krajewska was a Holocaust
survivor. She was born in War-
saw, Poland, and a graduate of
Warsaw University Law School.
She was a member of the Polish
Bar before the war. Mrs. Krajew-
ska was a survivor of the War-
saw ghetto where her husband
perished, but she was able to
save her daughter's life. Mrs.
Krajewska immigrated to the
United States in 1969 after polit-
ical unrest in Poland. She
worked as a translator for many
years before retiring. Mrs. Kra-
- jewska was a selfless benefactor
to many individuals. She re-
ceived an award from Shaarit
Haplaytah in 1992 for her heroic
actions in the Holocaust.
She is survived by her daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Dr. Kristina
and Dr. John Kochanowski of
West Bloomfield; nephew and
niece, Dr. Edward Malinowski
and Dr. Jolanta Malinowski;
grandchildren, Andrew and Lisa
Kochanowski; great-grandson,
Benjamin. Mrs. Krajewska was
the beloved wife of the late Izrael
Mojzes Kohn and the loving sis-
ter of the late Stefania Mali-
nowska. Contributions may be
made to American Mogen Dovid
for Israel, 23470 Riverview Dri-
ve, Southfield, MI 48034; or the
Holocaust Memorial Center in
West Bloomfield, 6602 West
Maple Road, West Bloomfield,
MI 48322.
Services were held at Hebrew
Memorial Chapel. Interment at
Adat Shalom Memorial Park in
Livonia. Arrangements by He-
brew Memorial Chapel.

HAROLD PERLSTElN, 82,

former Detroiter of Hollywood,
Fla., died Nov. 21.
He is survived by his wife,
Lisa; daughters and sons-in-law, _
Debra and Michael Feldman of
West Bloomfield, Rita and Dr.
Joseph Salama of Farmington
Hills, Bonnie and Morry Levin of
Farmington Hills; sister, Chaya
Burko of Israel; grandchildren,

David, Evan and Jill Salama,

HARVEY SAMUELS, 78, of

Southfield, died Nov. 24. Mr.
Samuels was an insurance agent
for Bensman Agency.
He is survived by his wife,
Sylvia; daughter and son-in-law,
Pamela and Jacob David of
Farmington Hills; son and
daughter-in-law, David and An-
drea of West Bloomfield; grand-
children, Elizabeth and Danielle,
David, Justin, Marli and Jenna
Samuels; brother-in-law and sis-
ter-in-law, Norman and Evelyn
Blatt.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be

CAROLYN MARCIA
SCBMIDT, 57, of Harper

Woods, died Nov. 20. Ms.
Schmidt was a prosecuting attor-
ney for Wayne County. She was
a graduate of the University of
Detroit Law School and a mem-
ber of the American Bar Associa-
ton and the Michigan Bar Asso-
ciation.
Ms. Schmidt is survived by
her daughters and son-in-law,
Petra Samprey, Ania and Scott
Tanis of Miami; son, Ianos of
Iowa; two grandchildren; broth-
er, David Wolf of Dearborn; sis-
ters and brother-in-law, Sydney
Wolf of Louisiana, Kristen
Gremillion and Paul Gardner of
Columbus, Ohio.
Contributions may be made to
a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements by the Ira Kauf-
man Chapel.

DAVID SCHONBERGER, 86,

of Oak Park, died Nov. 22.
He is survived by his wife,
