snowflakes, mice, toy soldiers and

veteran of A Christmas Carol at Meadow
Brook Theatre. Her brother Jeffrey, who
turns10 on Dec. 3, plays her onstage
brother Tiny Tim for his second year.

utcracker, Nutcracker make
me a match. There's The
Nutcracker at the Macomb
Center for the Performing
Arts. And The Nutcracker at the
Detroit Opera House.
The Oakland Festival Ballet
Company, accompanied by the
Warren Symphony Orchestra,
makes its debut on the Macomb
Center stage. Appearing for her
third year in the production, Miri-
am Liebman is a fifth-grader at
Hillel Day School, who also stud-
ies the piano. In addition, Cindy
Phillips, a junior at Cranbrook
Kingswood, will perform. Cindy
has danced with the American
Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Ballet
and Ballet Met during her sum-
mers.
The Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra's production of The Nut-
cracker is movin' on up, actually,
around the corner to the Detroit
Opera House. In addition to its
new digs, the DSO's ballet will
"feature the Detroit premiere of
a set design that was originally
created for Mikhail Baryshnikov
and the American Ballet The-
atre's production of The Nut-
cracker. The sets were designed
by the late Boris Aronson, win-
