New Name For
Information Line

The Federation Resource Line is
the new name for the Jewish In-
formation and Referral Service.
Begun in 1985, the Jewish Fed-
eration-sponsored program fields
about 4,100 inquiries a year.
Based at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Jewish Community Cen-
ter, the Federation Resource
Line can connect callers to re-
sources for services for the el-
derly, respite care, singles
dating services, relocation, vol-
unteer opportunities and infor-
mation about the Jewish
community, among hundreds of
other topics.
It also maintains a database of
services for people with disabili-
ties available throughout metro
Detroit. A Text Telephone, (810)
967-0460, links people with hear-
ing impairments to a variety of
services to meet their needs. The
Text Telephone is available by ap-
pointment.
The service is staffed by vol-
unteers trained to keep inquiries
confidential. Hours are Monday-
Friday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Federation Resource
T ine is (810) 967-HELP (4357).
