Rabbi Asher Z. Lopatin, son of the
late George Lopatin and the late
Carolyn Lopatin.
Rachel earned a bachelor's de-
gree in Judaic studies from the
University of Michigan, a mas-
ter's in Judaic studies from the
Jewish Theological L'2minary and
master of social work from Co-
lumbia University. She is the pro-
gram director at Anshe Emet
Synagogue in Chicago.

Asher received his bachelor's
degree in international relations
and Islamic studies from Boston
University and a master of phi-
losophy in medieval Arabic
thought from Oxford University
as a Rhodes Scholar. He received
s'micha from Brisk Rabbinical
College in Chicago and • from
Yeshiva University in New York.
Asher is the rabbi of Anshe
Shalom B'nai Israel Congregation
in Chicago. Rachel and Asher
both received Wexner Fellow-
ships.
