Rabbi A. Sacks
Addresses Reception
Rabbi Andrew Sacks, director of the Rabbinical Assembly of Is-
rael's Bureau for Religious Affairs, will provide a briefing on the
latest developments of the Masorti Movement at a reception to be
hosted by Michigan Jewish community leaders Doreen and David
Hermelin and Dorothy and Byron Gerson. The recption will be
held in the Gersons' home 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
Rabbi Sacks has served as the resident director of Ramah Pro-
grams in Israel. He also served as the administrative director of the
North Jerusalem Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation Project of the
Los Angeles Federation and the Jerusalem Municipality.
The sponsor of the event is the Michigan Committee for Masorti,
a consortium of community and Conservative congregational lead-
ers who are working with the Masorti Foundation for Conserva-
tive Judaism in Israel to support Conservative congregations in
Rabbi Sacks
Israel.
