Spread chocolate chips over the bottom of pie shell. Set aside. In bowl, mix d margarine. sugar, co ecans and mix Stir in egg well. Pour into ie shell. Bake in heated oven 45 minutes. Re- gerate before serving. Serves 8. Variation: Substitute walnut halves for pecans. AUNT HANNPS APPLE C RRIES Pastry: 1 stick margarine, softened 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 11/2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 23 oz. jar chunky applesauce 1/4 cup dried cranberries Preheat oven to 350F. In processor, mix margarine, sugar, egg and 1/4 cup flour. Add re- maining flour about 1/2 cup at a time, processing between each ad- dition. Add baking powder with last addition. Press dough into 9- inch spring form. Bake 15 min- utes in preheated oven. Pour applesauce into crust and gently stir in cranberries. Return to oven and bake 25-30 minutes longer until edges are nicely browned. Cool thoroughly before removing spring form. From the trimmings, cut out leaves or apple shapes and light- ly press onto pastry, covering fruit. Sprinkle with nutmeg sugar mix- ture. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
