Jewish Values Essay Contest Applications are now available for the League of Jewish Women's Organization's 52nd annual Youth Awards. To qualify for the annual award of $500, applicants must be a high school senior with at least a 3.0 grade point average, have a formal Jewish education and be actively involved in the community. Applicants must also submit a one page typed essay on the topic "Is There a Place in Gov- ernment for Jewish Values?" Their response should consider the issue both from the American and Jewish perspective. Qualified applicants will also be interviewed by a panel of judges. Winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Temple Beth El. Applications and essays must be received no later than Jan. 10, 1997.
