Try chairperson of this year's JARC (Jewish Association for Res- idential Care) gala fund-raiser on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Fox Theatre. Grease is the word these days at JARC headquarters, where Dembs, Associate Chairperson Jim Zack, Young Adult Pre-Glow Co-Chairs Gary Gilbert and Ron Applebaum, Executive Director Joyce Keller, and a dedicated, en- ergetic slew of steering committee members and ticket sellers put to- gether the details of the massive undertaking. JARC is a nonprofit organiza- tion that operates 16 homes and four independent living programs for adults with developmental dis- abilities. One-third of JARC's an- nual $5.2 million budget is derived from individual and corporate con- tributions. The concert event, now in its 14th year, is JARC's major fund-raiser. Last year, JARC presented Joseph and the Amazing Techni- color Dreamcoat to a sellout crowd at the Masonic Temple. On Nov. 20, the cast of Grease will be born to hand jive for JARC's audience. The national tour stars Adrian Zmed (Grease 2, "Dance Fever"), who starred in the role of Danny Zuko on Broadway; Jasmine Guy ("A Different World," "Melrose Place") as Rizzo; and Peter Scolari ("Bosom Buddies," "Newhart") as Vince Fontaine.
