Winter Tour
In Israel

New York—Hadassah National
Vanguard and National Travel
Department are planning a "Sin-
gles Celebrate in Israel" winter
holiday from Dec. 22, 1996, to
Jan. 1, 1997. Participants will
have the opportunity to mingle
with singles while touring Israel.
Highlights include a night tour
of Tel Aviv's pubs and clubs; a dri-
ve to Ramat Aviv for a visit to the
Museum of the Diaspora (Beit
Hatfutsoth); a jeep ride in the
Naftali mountains; a walk to the
Western Wall; a tour of two
Hadassah Hospitals to see the
Chagall windows; a visit to
Memorial Forest to plant trees;
sightseeing to nearby attractions,
including the Golan Heights,
Masada, Yad Vashem, Ein Gedi
and Ceasarea; shopping in the
Carmel Market.
"Singles Celebrate in Israel"
includes round trip airfare, de-
parting from Kennedy Airport in
New York; accommodations; all
tours and activities and some

Youth Events

National Council of Synagogue
Youth will host a women's class 7-
8 p.m. Sunday, open to girls 9-12,
at the ME building on 12 Mile be-
tween Evergreen and Lahser.
The Culture Club, for all 9th-

12th graders, is 11:30 a.m. Tues-
day at Southfield-Lathrop; noono
Wednesdays at Berkley. Each
Thursday is Chesed night, to pack
food for the needy or visit the el-

BBYO Plans
Homecoming

BBYO will host a homecoming
event 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at
Maple-Drake JCC. All BBY0er's
that were in the program between
1990-1996 are invited to attend.

Elections Program

The results of the elections will be
one the major issues studied and
discussed by Habonim Dror Zion-
ist youth group, 2-4 p.m. Sunday,

Park. The program is designed for
ages 9-15.

WSU Offering
Hebrew Classes

Wayne State University is offer-
ing several Hebrew classes this
winter, including a class at its
Oakland Extension Center at 12
Mile and Farmington roads.
The suburban class, to be of-
fered 4:30-7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays,
will be "Cultural Trends in Mod-
ern Hebrew Literature." The class
will be taught in English by Pro-
fessor Edith Covensky.
Other courses offered by WSU
include beginning and intermedi-
ate Hebrew and directed studies.
