1/2 cup chopped pecans
5 cups dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup prepared white
horseradish
1 cup apple jack or apple juice
1/2 cup oil or melted margarine
1 teaspoon dried sage
salt
white pepper

In a skillet heat the 1/4 cup oil.
Saute the celery and onions un-
til they are soft. Transfer them 01
to a large bowl. Add the re-
maining ingredients and mix
well. Stuff your turkey or pour
into a large greased baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 1 hour or un-
til crisp on top. (Depending on
how deep your baking dish is, it
could take up to 1 1/2 hours for
this to be done.) You don't want
it too moist. Serves 15 to 20.

Assimilation
A Major Threat

Jerusalem (JTA) — Assimila-
tion is the No. 1 threat facing
Jews today, Israeli Prime Min-
ister Benjamin Netanyahu said
at the kickoff of "A Century of
Zionism," marking 100 years
since the first Zionist Congress
in Basel, Switzerland.
Speaking at a reception at the
president's residence in
Jerusalem, Mr. Netanyahu said
that 100 years ago, anti-Semi-
tism was the No. 1 problem.
Jewish Agency Chairman
Avraham Burg reiterated the
prime minister's message,
saying that assimilation is hurt-
frig the unification of the Jewish
people.

Offers Apology

London (JTA) — A British soc-
cer player has apologized to the
Jewish community for giving a
Nazi salute during a recent
match.
Goalkeeper Mark Bosnich
gave a Nazi salute — he says he
was clowning around — after
the crowd rattled him for a foul
he committed in a game two
years ago against a German
player.
The club for which Mr.
Bosnich plays has a significant
Jewish following.
Politicians, including a.mem-
ber of the European Parliament, 401
condemned Mr. • Bosnich's
actions. He also faces a police
probe and a misconduct charge
