Jason Michael Horowitz of West
Bloomfield was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Oct.
12, at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Participating in the service
were Jason's parents, Sharon
and David Horowitz, as well as
his brother Todd. Jason's proud
grandparents are Mickie and
Sam Orechkin, and Tova and
Jack Horowitz, all of Delray
Beach, Fla.
Jason is an honor student at
West Hills Middle School. He is
continuing his Jewish education
at Adat Shalom. Jason enjoys
sports, drama, and has spent the
past three summers volunteer-
ing as a Scamp Day camp coun-
selor.

Hebrew, Stephanie also is in the
Madrachim Training Program
at Temple Kol Ami Religious
School. Also, she studies piano
and jazz dancing.
In preparation for her bat
mitzvah, Stephanie has volun-
teered at Yad Ezra and at Tem-
ple Kol Ami in support of the
Yom Kippur Food Drive for MO
zon, Yad Ezra and the Oakland
Food Bank. She has also partic-
ipated in the Temple Kol Ami
Mitzvah Day events.
Stephanie is the grand-
daughter of Shirley Persin and
the late Eddie Persin of South-
field, and Florence Needleman
and the late Benjamin Needle-
man of Philadelphia, Penn.
Stephanie and her family and
friends will celebrate her ba -1 , -
mitzvah with a party at Temple
Kol Ami on Saturday evening,
Nov. 9.

Torah as a bat mitzvah at Tem-
ple Kol Ami on Saturday, Nov.
9, by Rabbi Norman Roman and
Rabbi Ernst Conrad. Joining
Stephanie in her service will be
her parents, Roger and Marcia
Persin, and her older sister,
Michele.
Stephanie is an honor student
in the PEP Program at Orchard
Lake Middle School. In addition
to her studies at school and in
Nicole Kaplan of West Bloom-
field will become bat mitzvah on
Nov. 16, at Congregation Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses. Rabbi
Aaron Bergman will lead the
services.
Participating in the ceremo-
ny will be Nicole's aunt and un-
cle, Sari and Jeffrey Weiss.
Proud grandparents are John
and Marion Kaplan of West
Bloomfield.
Nicole is a student at Clifford
Smart Middle School and at-
tends Hebrew school at Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses.
