NOVEMBER
Congregations Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses and B'nai Moshe will
sponsor a variety of adult Jewish
learning programs.
Among the Eilu v' Eilu offer-
ings will be a monthly Rosh
Chodesh Text Study Series which
meets on the first Monday night
of every Hebrew month from 7:45
to 9 p.m. This series is free. The
schedule is as follows: On Nov. 11
(Kisiev), Conservative communi-
ty scholar in residence Rabbi De-
bra Orenstein will discuss "The
Stories of Dina: A Feminist Re-
Reading." On Dec. 16 (Tevet), Su-
sann Codish will teach a session
titled "Where You Will Go I Will
Follow: On Ruth, Family Loyal-
ty, and Becoming a Jew." On
March 11 (Adar 2), Susann
Codish will discuss, "Did Queen
Vashti Really Have A Tail?"
There will be no study session for
the month of Nisan, in deference
to Passover preparations. The ses-
sion for the Hebrew month of lyar
will take place on May 12 (the 5th
of Iyar, which is Yom Ha'Atz-
maut- Israel Independence Day).
Ruth Bergman will discuss "Re-
membering Israel's Renewal:
Rosh Chodesh and Rebirth of the
Jewish State." The series will
close on June 9 with a study ses-
sion for the Hebrew month of
Sivan, led by Susann Codish. Her
subject will be "The Mother of
Samson: Behind Every Great
Man..." B'nai Moshe will host the
Rosh Chodesh series through
January. Beginning in February,
the series will meet at Beth Abra-
ham Hillel Moses.
Another class being offered is
an eight-part text study series on
the Book of Psalms titled, "From
Where Will My Help Come?" This
course is taught by Rabbi Elliot
Pachter at B'nai Moshe on
Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30
a.m. There is a charge. The course
began on Oct. 16. New students
are welcome to join the class; tu-
ition will be prorated.
For information, contact Rab-
bi Pachter, 778-0600; or Rabbi
Bergman, 851-6880.
