Metro Hillel
Plans Set

Hillel of Metro Detroit will hold
its fourth annual Hayride and
Bonfire from 7-10 p.m. Sunday,
Oct. 27, at Sugar Bush Farms,
3620 Gotfredson, in Ypsilanti. A
convoy will leave from Roosevelt's
parking lot (12 Mile and Orchard
Lake) at 6 p.m. For cost, infor-
mation, and to respond, call the
HMD office.
At 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10,
HMD will co-host Dr. Ruth Wes-
theimer at the 45th annual Jew-
ish Book Fair. HMD, YAD and
MJAC will co-sponsor a young
adult dessert reception with Dr.
Ruth prior to her presentation.

At Michigan State University
Hillel at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct.
25, there will be Shabbat services
and dinner at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 31, Rabbi Phil Cohen will
teach a class on "Who are the
Jews?" at the Union. At 6:15 p.m.
on Friday, Nov. 1, Shabbat ser-
vices and dinner will take place
at Hillel. Following dinner, Bob
Lovin.ger will discuss "Psycholo-
gy and Religion."

ing a Shabbat dinner for mem-
bers of their congregation, contact

Machon Hosts
Israel Tour

Machon L' Torah will offer an Is-
rael winter learning tour for stu-
dents and young professionals.
The tour, led by Rabbi Ja-
cobovitz, will include tours
throughout the country, lectures
and discussions by local scholars
and Jewish study. The partici-
pants will have a chance to ex-
perience daily Israeli living by
interacting with Israeli families.
The tour will depart Detroit on
Sunday, Dec. 22, and will return
on Friday, Jan. 3. Call or fax Ma-
chon L'Torah for an application.
The deadline for applications is
Nov. 29. For information and ap-
plications, call the Machon office,

a deli dinner co-sponsored by the
Jewish Student Association of
Central Michigan University at
6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
