Machon LTorah will hold its six-
week fall semester of JudaiCol-
lege educational program 7:15
p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at
Machon. Rabbi Jacobovitz will
lead the lecture on "Six Short
Steps To Basic Judaism." Rabbi
Steven Ettinger will speak on
Jewish ethics from Pirkei Avot,
Ethics of our Sages.
At 8:15 p.m., Rabbi Naftoli
Kirzner will lead a lecture on
"Back to the Future" centered
around the weekly Torah por-
tion. Refreshments will be

No previous Jewish educa-
tional background or knowledge
of Hebrew is required for any of
the classes. This service is free of
charge. Reservations are recom-
mended. As part of the fall se-
mester, Machon will offer a free
five-week crash course in basic
Hebrew. Reservations are re-
quired.

Disabilities
Event Oct. 27

The Agency for Jewish Educa-
tion will host the annual Fami-
ly Circle event for families and
friends of Jewish people with dis-
abilities. This year's program,
"Striving to Be One: A Jewish
Community That Includes All
Jews," will take place 9 a.m.-
12: 15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at
the Agency for Jewish Education.
The morning will begin with
coffee and registration at 9 a.m.,
followed by a keynote address by
Rabbi Eliezar M. Golstock, na-
tional director of Heart to Heart:
the American Jewish Society for
Distinguished Children and
member of the New York Task
Force for Children and Families
At-Risk in the Jewish Commu-
nity. He will offer suggestions for
Jewish communities to enable
people with disabilities to be
more involved in their commu-
nities.
Following the talk, adults will
have the opportunity to attend
one of the three concurrent work-
shops.
Supervised programs for chil-
dren and young adults of all ages,
including those with disabilities,
will be provided throughout the
morning.
The program will conclude
with A Tribute to Our Parents
and Families. The Family Circle
is a community event co-spon-
sored by many organizations
who service and advocate for
Jewish people with disabilities.
There is a charge of $5 per per-
son or $10 per family. The pro-
gram is made possible by a
contribution from the Woman's

Auxiliary of UHS.
