Temple Kol Ami made itself an ark —
a tent, including a heater -- on the
grounds of the Detroit Zoological Park on
Saturday morning.
Using a guitar, Rabbi Norman Roman
told the story of Noah and the ark to his
congregation. Kol Ami has visited the zoo
for Shabbat Noah four times and comes
prepared with a 14-page service, includ-
ing drawings and games for the children to com-
plete. It also uses a biblical adventure sheet
prepared by Jewish Experiences For Families
as a guide to tour the zoo and ask questions
about biblical animals found there. ❑
