Shim's grandfather, Leo Greenberg is recovering from ill- ness and was unable to attend. Shira's aunts and uncles, Su- san and Rick Blackmun, of San Jose, and Mitch Greenberg, of Ap- tos, and Dr. Martha Zaslow and Torn Stanton, of Bethesda, Md., also took part in the service. For her bat mitzvah project, Shim organized, collected and de- livered donations of toiletries, clothing and other supplies to COTS, a shelter in Detroit. Shira attended Hillel Day School and Beth Shalom's Reli- gious School. She is an honor stu- dent at Walled Lake Middle School, where she played soccer last year. Shira swam with the Jewish Community Center swim team the past two years. Shira is an avid camper and reader.
