Hear Speaker

The Brandeis University Nation-
al Women's Committee will have
its opening meeting 11 a.m. on
Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the
Bloomfield Township Library.
The speaker will be Jeannie
Weiner, past president of the Jew-
ish Community Council. She is on
the board of directors and the ex-
ecutive committees of the Jewish
Federation of Detroit, as well as
the exective committees of the
Jewish Family Service and the
American Arab and Jewish
Friends.
Ms. Weiner's topic will be "Hot
Topics for Women Approaching
the Year 2000."
The meeting will begin with a
brunch. The charge is $15, and

Luncheon Honors
Mrs. Weisberg

The Detroit Metropolitan Coun-
cil of Jewish Women International
will hold its annual Special Gifts
Luncheon on 11:45 a.m. Wednes-
day, Oct. 30, at Congreation B'nai
Moshe. Mrs. Weisberg is a life
member of Morganthau Chapter,
JWI and serves on the board of
JWI and Hadassah, where she
has been Chairman of Israel
Bonds for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Weisberg has taught Eng-

tional. Ms. Perline served two
years as president elect and
chaired the National Planning,
Fiscal, and Leadershp commit-
tees and the Anita Perlman Na-
tional Training Institute. She has
been a member of the Constitu-
tion and Laws, Fiscal, and Per-
sonal Giving committees and has
served on Task Forces for Major
Gifts, Planned Giving and JWI's
Residential Treatment Center in
Israel.
Ms. Perline is from Wichita
where she founded Voices for
Choice, a coalition of groups
formed to support reproductive
freedom for women.
There is a minimum contribu-
tion requirement and a luncheon
