Plans Laid
The Adat Shalom Sisterhood will
hold its 1996 Fall Institute on
three Tuesday mornings this
month.
Set for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 15, 22,
29, participations will learn
about "Genesis — a Living Con-
versation" from Rabbis Efry
Spectre and Daniel Nevins. The
Rabbis will provide the details of
a Jewish Theological Seminary
study of family relationships of
our biblical ancestors.
At 10:30 a.m. Cantor Larry
Vieder will present "Good Morn-
ing, God" — an introduction to
the Shacharit service.
Bagels and coffee will be
served at 9 a.m. There is no
charge. The community is wel-
come. Interested individuals
should call the synagogue office,

standing Israel: Then and Now"
will begin Monday, Oct. 7, at 9:45
a.m. The four Monday sessions
(Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28) will dis-
cuss the events that ignited the
movement for a Jewish home-
land, the problems the early
Zionists faced, the similarities
and differences in the Arab and
Jewish national awakenings and
Israel's relationship to the Dias-
pora.
