Monday, Oct. 7:
"Yiddish I and II," offered in
cooperation with the University
of Michigan, will be taught by. Ju-
dith Nysenholc, on Mondays, 7
to 8:10 p.m. and 8:20 to 9:30 p.m.
for 14 weeks at the Agency for
Jewish Education;
"Insights from the Prophets"
will be taught by Rabbi Steven
Weil Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. to
noon for 12 weeks at the Agency
for Jewish Education.
"History: Jerusalem 3000" will
be taught by Rabbi Herbert

ture titled "Ways into Jewish
Spirituality" on Tuesday, Dec.

Agency for Jewish Education; no

Exercise Class
For Children

Jewish Family Service and the
Jewish Community Center will
offer a creative after-school pro-
gram for children with Attention
Deficit Disorder and Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADD/ADHD).
Stretch and Reach offers chil-
dren supervised physical exercise
and social interaction designed
to complement current ADD and

ADHD interventions. The goals
of the program are to develop self-
confidence, improve organiza-
tional skills, promote teamwork
and to help children achieve their
full potential.
All programming is led by
trained JCC recreation and JFS c - ± \
social work staff. Groups meet
once a week at each JCC location.
JFS will provide one-way escort-
ed transportation from the child's
school to the JCC.

Symposium Set
On Parenting

Reservations are available for the

parenting symposium, "Renew-
ing Hope and Identity in Con-
temporary Jewish Life," slated
for 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at
Temple Israel.
The symposium will offer a
variety of workshops on pro-
ductive parenting and main-
taining healthy family life. Dr.
Michael J. Bader, a doctor of
mental health in private prac-
tice and an affiliate member of
the San Francisco Psychoana-
lytic Institute, will be the
keynote speaker.
A dessert reception will follow
the program. There is a charge.
