Gabriel Edelson

Gabe Edelson of West Bloomfield
will be called to the Torah as a bar
mitzvah on Oct. 19, at Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek. Gabe will
participate in the Minchah-
Ma'ariv service that will be led by
Rabbi Irwin Groner and Cantor
Chaim Najman.
Gabe's parents, Lori and Robin
Edelson, and his brother, Alex
Edelson, will participate in the
service. His proud grandparents,
Nora Stone and Irvin Kanat, and
his great-grandmothers, Helen
Kanat and Netta Sucher, also will
participate. Gabe's aunts and un-
cles, Richard and Andrea Ketchel,
Leslie and Lanie Kanat, Nathan
and Perri Rosen, Steve and Kim
Kanat, also will take part in the
service. Gabe also is the grand-
son of the late William and Lucy
Edelson and the great-grandson
of the late Beatrice Gabe New-
mark.
Gabe is an all-A honor student
at Berkshire Middle School in
Birmingham. He has won nu-
merous scholastic awards. He is
a piano player and has earned his
red belt in Karate/Gracie Jiu
Jitsu.
Gabe attends Hebrew school
at Congregation Shaarey Zedek.

Bank will present a home im-
provement workshop Tuesdays
6:30 - 9 p.m. from Oct. 8 - Nov.
12 at the Southfield Parks and
Recreation Building lower level.
Workshops will be conducted
by the WARM training program.
Topics include plumbing, weath-
erization techniques, windows,
electrical repair and plastering.
