Dr. Hauser was a retired oph- thalmologist, who graduated from the University of Michi- gan Medical School in 1935 and completed his residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Hospi- tal. He was one of the founding doctors of Sinai Hospital. Dr. Hauser was a lieutenant colonel in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. Dr. Hauser is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley; son, Meryl of Chicago; daugh- ters, Kay, Wendy of Fairfax, Va.
