Swimmer Wins
Senior Honors

Sidney Schulman of Oak Park
qualified for the National Senior
Olympics next May by winning
silver medals in two backstroke
events in July at a qualifying
meet.
Schulman, competing in the
60-65 age division, finished sec-
ond in the 100-meter back in
1:21 and in the 200-meter back
in 3:29.
He was asked to serve on the
sports committee for the swim-
ming division and will compete
in Tucson, Ariz., in May at the
U.S. National Senior Sports
Classic VI.

Is Planned

The Neighborhood Project, the
City of Southfield and NBD Bank
will present a home improvement
workshop Tuesdays 6:30 - 9 p.m.
from Oct. 8 - Nov. 12, at the South-
field Parks and Recreation Build-
ing lower level.
Workshops will be conducted
by the WARM training program.
Topics include plumbing, weath-
erization techniques, windows,
electrical repair and plastering.
