survived by her mother, Anita
Ruby of West Bloomfield; son
Michael of Oak Park; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert
and Linda Ruby of West Bloom-
field.

vices and interment were held
at Oakview Cemetery in Royal

LARRY GOTTLIEB, 64, for-

mer Detroiter of Los Angeles,
died Sept. 10. He is survived by
his son, Marcus; mother, Belle
Meltzer; sister, Joyce Shulman.

ANNE GRADIS, 75, of Farm-

ington Hills, died Sept. 15. She
is survived by her husband,
Ernest; son and daughter-in-
law, Dr. Glenn and Donna of
West Bloomfield; daughters
and son-in-law, Barbara Schare
of West Bloomfield, Sally and
Bill Enniss of New Castle,
Wash.; grandchildren, Joshua
Schare, Michael Gradis, Jen-
nifer, Jonathan and Jillian
Gourwitz.
Graveside services were held
at Beth El Cemetery in Livonia.

CHAIM KROMIRS, 80, for-
mer Detroiter of Hall endale,

Fla., died Sept. 16. Mr. Kromirs
was the former owner of
Kromirs Furniture on Michigan
Avenue in Detroit.
He is survived by his nephew
and niece, Michael and Carol
Kromirs of Farmington Hills;
great-nephew, Jason Kromirs.
He was the beloved son of the
late Moshe and Chaika
Kromirs; brother of the late
Leonard Kromirs.
Services were held at Mach-
pelah Cemetery Chapel in Fer-
ndale. Contributions may be
made to the Michael Syme
Memorial Fund at Temple Is-
rael or to a charity of one's
choice. Arrangements by Dorf-
man Funeral Direction.

EDWIN LESSON, 63, of New

York formerly of Detroit, died
Sept. 11. For the past 15 years,
Mr. Lesson was the owner of
Edwin Lesson Company, a
product development organiza-
tion dealing in accessories to
the tobacco industry with of-
fices in New York and the Far
East. Mr. Lesson was a Zionist,
having spent a year as an ex-
change student on a kibbutz in
1952 where he met and worked
with Golda Meier. He was a

sponsor of the arts as well as a
volunteer worker in food
kitchens.
Mr. Lesson is survived by his
parents, Samuel and Rose Les-
son. Interment at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may
be made to any cancer fund.
Arrangements by the Ira Kauf-
man Chapel.

LEON LEVINE, 79, of West

Bloomfield, died Sept. 14. Mr.
Levine was the founder, presi-
dent and owner of Dial Ma-
chine and Tool Company, a
sheet metal stamping compa-
ny that he founded in 1945
that was originally located in
Oak Park and is now in Jack-
son. He was a longtime mem-
ber of Temple Beth El, a
Shriner and a member of Per-
fection Lodge. He received the
silver star for gallantry in ac-
tion during World War II and
was stationed with the 91st
Chemical Mortar Batallion.
Mr. Levine is survived by
his wife, Sylvia Green; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Helene and
Mel Blackman of Brighton;
sons and daughters-in-law,
Stuart and Susan Levine of
West Bloomfield, Richard and
Melissa Levine of West Bloom-
field, Michael and Kelly Green,
Dr. Robert Green Levine;
grandchildren, Michael and
David Blackman, Candice and
Lindsay Green. He was the
beloved husband of the late
Reva Levine.
Interment at Beth El Memo-
rial Park. Contributions may
be made to the Karmanos Can-
cer Institute, 18831 West 12
Mile Road, Lathrup Village,
MI 48076-9806 and the Michi-
gan Heart Association, 16310
West 12 Mile, Southfield, MI
48076. Arrangements by the
Ira Kaufman Chapel.
