O ur political power is a direct result of our appearance at the voting booth. Historically, more than 90 percent of eligible Jews voted. Our high voter turnout enabled us to defend the rights of all Americans and assured the continuity of a strong U.S. - Israel relationship, T oday only about 50 to 70 percent are registered. Registration forms can be obtained from your synagogue office or the Jewish Community Council. OCTOBER 7th IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR THE NOVEMBER 5th ELECTION If you are physically unable to get to the polls or will be out of town on election day, you may apply for an absentee ballot. To apply for an absentee ballot, you can write to or visit your city or township clerk by November 2 at 2:00 p.m. You will receive the ballot by mail shortly before the date of the election. Your completed ballot must be received by the clerk of the city or township where you vote prior to the close of the polls on election day.
