Congregation Bet Chaverim will
host a Sukkot potluck brunch on
Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10:30
a.m. - noon. Families can deco-
rate the sukkah and then enjoy

Cemetery (Sections W and P) on
Sunday, Sept. 22, for those who
would like to visit the graves of
their loved ones and offer prayers
during this High Holy Day sea-

Louis Marshall-Israel Chapter,
Jewish Women International
and Louis Marshall, Suburban,
Tikvah Lodge will meet on
Thursday, Sept. 19, 1 p.m. at the
Zionist Cultural Center.

The Metropolitan Detroit Coun-
cil of Synagogues and Temples
in conjunction with several ma-
jor Jewish communal organiza-
tions are presenting two political
forums. These forums are being
held to inform the Jewish elec-
torate and to provide our com-
munity with an opportunity to
meet the candidates, to hear an-
swers to issues of concern and to
ask questions.
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, at
7:30 p.m. at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, the following
candidates have been invited: L.
Brooks Patterson and Edward
T. Hamilton, Oakland County
Executive; Dave Gorcyca and
Steve Kaplan, Oakland County
Prosecutor; Roderick J. Fracas-
si and Nancy L. Quarles, State
Representative-36th District;
Andrew Raczkowski and
Stephen Dilbert, State Repre-
sentative 37th District; Patri-
cia Godchaux and Lynn Shecter,
State Representative 40th Dis-
trict.
The moderators for this forum
will be David Gad-Harf, execu-
tive director, Jewish Community
Council, and George Cantor,
columnist and commentator.
A second forum on national is-
sues will be held at Temple Is-
rael on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 10
a.m.

Panel Discusses
Nursing Homes

To learn about consumer-relat-
ed issues in nursing home selec-
tion, a panel discussion on the
subject will be held at Temple Is-
rael, on Thursday, Sept. 26, from
7:30 to 9 p.m.
Panelists will be Rabbi Paul
M. Yedwab of Temple Israel; Dr.,
Jaqueline Grekin, a psychologist
in private practice; and Susan
Titus, executive direct& of Cit-
izens for Better Care, a con-
sumer advocacy group focusing
on nursing homes. No recom-
mendations will be made con-
cerning specific facilities.
The program is open to the
public and there is no charge.

Plans Meeting

The next meeting of the South-
field-Oak Park Support Group
will be held Wednesday, Sept.
18, at 7 p.m. at the Trowbridge
Apartments.
The speaker will be neurolo-
gist Dr. Jay Gorell, director, Hen-
ry Ford Hospital Movement
Disorders and Parkinson's Clin-
ic.

the group will host Las Vegas
Night at the Henry Ford Man-
sion on the grounds of U-M Dear-
born to benefit Michigan
