ALISON ASHTON SPECIAL TO THE JEWISH NEWS atients who are satisfied with their doctors usually are those who take the most active role in their own health care. The recent issue of the National Headache Foun- dation's Head Lines newsletter points out the importance of ask- ing the right questions when seek- ing a new physician. When recommendations tome from friends, find out how many times they've seen the doctor and how long they usually spend in the waiting room. It's also helpful to interview a prospective physician; after all, this is someone who could be treating you for years to come. The inter- view only takes 10 to 15 minutes and should be done in person. Key issues to discuss include: Questions.
