Celebrating the Art of Entertaining Dear Friends: S ome people think I sell steak. What I really sell is the sizzle, because steak by itself is just food. It's the siz- zle that helps make the party. Our mission is to make our clients' events sizzle. We strive to be at the forefront of culinary dining within the framework of each party, expectations of the hosts, comfort of the guests and overall success of the event. Quality Kosher Catering meets our objective by stay- ing abreast of new develop- ments in food design. Our company was found- ed by my mother in 1966 in the heart of Detroit's Jewish community under its original name Royal Kosher Catering. In 1978, Royal Kosher Catering evolved into Quality Kosher Catering. The compafiy has blossomed from my mother's original philosophy: "always give more than you promised." Just like my mother, we strive to enhance life's most endearing moments for our clients, from births, bar/bat mitzvahs and marriages to other occasions filled with relatives and friends. One of the most important elements of planning a successful event is the excite- ment generated within our organization. Much of our passion is derived from under- standing that no two parties will mirror one another. Each party develops its own charac- ter, and each venue has its own idiosyncrasies. This con- tributes to the distinctiveness of every event. Additionally, new prod- ucts are available on a con- tinuous basis that enable us to cultivate unique recipes and presentations. Kosher wine has stepped into to the '90s with sophistication and a variety of award-winning vintages from California, France and Israel. Kosher food is only limited by imagination — not availability. Maintaining kosher tra- ditions is important in all our lifecycle events. Modern technology — from comput- ers to transportation — has enabled kosher caterers to shop the world. At Quality Kosher Catering, we wel- come the opportunity to ful- fill the needs of our clients. I am pleased to share with you the first edition of "Kosher Culinary Times", Quality Kosher Catering's newsletter. In this issue, we spotlight Executive Director Patricia Paterni. Also, you will find a few recipes from Chef Michael Miller to use during the upcoming holi- days. To help you with your Rosh Hashanah dinner, Quality Kosher Catering provides an assortment of palette-pleasing dishes from which to select. We are privileged to have the opportunity to work at a unique and highly-respected synagogue as Shaarey Zedek with its world-class leader- ship and devoted member- ship. Quality Kosher Catering also reaches beyond this membership to cater in peoples' homes and other fas- cinating locations. On behalf of the entire Quality Kosher Catering family, we wish you a happy and healthy New Year. ■ Best regards, Paul G. Kohn
