Learning Minyan
Congregation B'nai Moshe will
hold a two-part High Holiday
Learning Minyan for interested
adult learners on the next two
Shabbat mornings, Aug. 31 and
Sept. 7. The sessions will run
from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 am. and
will feature interactive discus-
sion led by Len Wanetik, author
of the book Sedrah Study for
Everybody.
There is no charge, and no
reservations are required.

Calendar Plans
The Cultural Commision of Con-
gregation Beth Achim will spon-
sor a Selichot program on
Saturday, Sept. 7. Israel trip par-
ticipants will discuss their expe-
riences in Israel and show slides
and a video of the trip. Refresh-
ments will be served after the
presentation.
The program will begin at 10
p.m., with Selichot services con-
ducted by our clergy starting at
midnight. For information, con-

Congregation Beth Achim will
host a family Shabbat dinner,
honoring Congregation Beth
Achim's past president Gary Lee-
man. The dinner will take place
on Friday, Sept. 6, at the syna-
gogue beginning with services at
6 p.m.; dinner following.
Gary Leeman, who served as
Congregation Beth Achim's pres-
ident from 1993-1995, is being
honored for his service and ded-
ication to the synagogue.
There is a charge for the din-
ner. Reservations should be made
by Sept. 3 by calling the syna-
gogue office, 352-8670.
The following day will cele-
brate New Member Shabbat with
an "Apples and Honey" kiddush
prepared by the Cultural Com-
mission. The evening will be the
Selichot program.
A kiddush will be held on Sat-
urday, Oct. 13, for Cantor Max
Shimansky, honoring his 60th
birthday.

At Adat Shalom
Adat Shalom Synagogue's Seli-
chot Program and Late Night
Service will be Saturday, Sept. 7.
Following a coffee reception at
9:30 p.m., members and guests
will hear a program titled "Turn-
ing Point," presented by Zieva and
Marc Konvisser, who recently at-
tended a seminar at Auschwitz.
Selichot services will begin at
11 p.m. For information, call the
