He was chief of anesthesia and medical director of the Intensive Care Unit at Paoli Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. He was also a clinical assistant professor in the Depatment of Anesthesiolo- gy at the Hospital of the Uni- veristy of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadel- phia. He was a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiol- ogy as well as a fellow of the American College of Anesthesi- ology and of the American Col- lege of Chest Physicians. Dr. Willens is survived by his wife, Joyce (Schlimme) Willens; a son, Benjamin of Seabright, N.J.; parents, G. Lionel and Gertrude of Longboat Key, Fla.; brother, Alan Willens of Boston; sister, Kathy Willens of New York. Dr. Willens was the beloved father of the late Vir- ginia Ann Willens.
