and son Adrian are rightfully proud of
her fine Italian restaurant with its romantic
ambiance. Original family recipes are
prepared for discerning diners by Chef
Vincenzo Bassonetti. The private garden
room with adjacent patio for appetizers
and cocktails is used for receptions, re-
hearsals, bar mitzvahs, etc. Dishes from
the Veneto region of Italy are prepared
and presented with choice elegance.
CHINESE
D. Dennisons, 27909 Orchard Lake
Rd., Farmington Hills, 553-7000. It is
on a par with many higher-touted restau-
rants whose fish entrees are a main fea-
ture, but still keeps a low key as one of
the area's better seafood houses. The
fresh water-farin' creatures thot end up in
both the Farmington Hills and Livonia lo-
cales bring much tasty goodness.
Ginopolis', 27815 Middlebelt Rd.,
Farmington Hills, 851-8222. One of Met-
ropolitan Detroit's favorite celebrity rest-
aurants, Ginopolis', owned by brothers
Johnny and Per Ginopolis, carries on the
tradition of excellence which their father
George always insisted upon. Seafood,
authentic Montgomery Inn ribs and choice
selections are Ginopolis' favorite-s. A beau-
tiful private room is available plus off-
premise service for all types of catering.
Hakata, 32443 Northwestern Hwy.,
Farmington Hills, 737-7220. It is always
an interesting experience to dine at a
Japanese restaurant. And even more
so when the ring of Japanese authentic-
ity is always prevalent. The menu and
ambience of Hakata, with its private
rooms, and slippers, sushi bar and open
dining room, are gracious attributes for
this honorable food emporium. It is open
seven days a week.

O'Shuck's Raw Bar & Grill,
35450 Grand River, Muirwood Square,
Farmington Hills. 810-474-8484. After
twelve years at this location, Larry Shee-
han decided to remodel to a Florida
decor. He has added oysters, shrimp,
gator tail, calamari and a whitefish din-
ner to his noted Sheehan burgers,
munchies, chili and popular bar-b-q ribs
that had been part of the former O'Shee-
han's menu. Imported beers, frozen trop-
ical drinks and a selections of island music
compliment this casual, fun diner.
Vineyard's Cafe & Catering,
32418 Northwestern Hwy., Farming-
ton Hills, 855-9463. The all-new Vine-
yards is something to see, with both
booths and tables for people to sit with
salads galore, both regular and low fat,
plus over 50 sandwiches. Also, from
Shirlee Bloom's separate kitchen comes
her excellent preparation of traditional
Jewish dishes, using only kosher prod-
ucts. Shirlee's foods are available for din-
ing in or carryout. She is also available

Farmington Hills, 810-848-9009. Lo-
cated in the Halstead Plaza, it is more
on the family dining theme with dishes
for both lunch and dinner. The casual fun
atmosphere also includes large screen,

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical
Museum, 31005 Orchard Lake Rd.,
626-5020. Only the huge clock at its out-
side entrance is backwards. Everything
else at this good time emporium spells km
for the entire family. Owner Marvin Yago-
da was crazy like a fox when he came
up with the idea, but it has become one
of very few like it in the nation, winning
awards and appearing in magazines and
the Guiness Wald Book of Records. Video
games, pinball machines, antique games,
unique posters, etc. include an old-time
photo booth. The party favorite also has
24 tables for lunch snacks.
