TM PUBLISHED BY THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Dorothy Cormie The Music Study Club's opening fall meeting will present mezzo- soprano Dorothy Duensing Connie on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1 p.m. at the Birmingham Temple in a program of opera, operetta, and musical theater selections. Ms. Duensing Connie received operatic training while on schol- arship at American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Aus- tria, then went on to concert and TV engagements in Germany and Austria. A Metropolitan Opera district finalist in 1991, she has appeared with the Tole- do Opera Company, Plymouth, Dearborn, Fort Street Presby- terian symphonies; and the Wayne State University Band. She has served as vocal music di- rector at the Liggett Schools, choral group conductor of Music Study Club and since 1990 as a member of the voice faculty at the Center for Creative Studies' Institute of Music and Dance, where she teaches at their main campus and at the north branch.
