Reservations are being taken
for the next Federation Forum,
noon Thursday, Sept. 5, at
the Townsend Hotel, Birming-
ham.
Guest speakers will be Mark
Volpe, executive director,
Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Hall (DSOH); and Peter Cum-
ings, DSOH board vice chair-
man and director of real estate,
the Fisher Group. Their topic
will be "Redefining Culture in
Detroit: Composing a Dynam-
ic Future."
The Forum is sponsored by
the Jewish Federation of Met-
ropolitan Detroit to promote an
interest in Federation activities
and enlighten its participants
on important political, econom-
ic and social issues.
There is an admission fee. A
dairy lunch will be served.
Kosher meals will be provided
with advance payment. Re-
quired reservations are due by
Aug. 28.

The Oak Park Jewish Commu-
nity Center and the Kaplan Ed-
ucation Center will conduct an
ACT class in preparation for the
Oct. 26 exam. Kaplan will hold
a free information seminar on
Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 5:30 p.m.

Support Group
For Divorced

The Caring Community Com-
mittee has developed a Divorce
Support Group for people who
have recently been divorced.
The group will begin on Sunday,
Oct. 20, and will continue for six
consecutive weeks. The group
will meet at Temple Israel from
9:45 - 11 a.m. and will be facil-
itated by Janice Tracht, a
trained professional therapist
in private practice and a mem-
ber of Temple Israel.

Senior Sendoff
Seeks Names

Names of incoming freshmen on
Michigan college campuses are
still being accepted by the Senior
Service. The Service is geared to-
ward easing the transistion be-
tween high school and college and
to promote Jewish life on campus.
Students who register with the
service will be welcomed by the
Hillel Foundation at the college
or university of their choice, in-
formed of and invited to partici-
pate in on-site Jewish activities.
To register for the Senior Send-
off Service, incoming college fresh-
men or their parents should send
the student's name, home ad-
dress, phone number and uni-
